Montessori : 2 years 10 months to 5.10 years

A child at the age of 2.6 years starts using his senses to put together all the information he has acquired in his first two environments (His house and the society around him) and uses his expertise to work with sensorial material and consolidate and categories all that he knows.

Working with materials with the aid of a trained montessori teacher helps him become academically strong while his enquiry skill is enhanced while he is working there. As he reaches the Primary classes his montessori work aids him in understanding the concepts and progress to being an intelligent human.

Language is learnt through Phonetic method and Arithmetic through quantities.

Montessori believes in giving freedom to the child and has experienced that his inner discipline will bring about the learning. The structure in Montessori is driven by Materials.
Kindergarten : 2 years to 5.10 years

In the play way method, a child is engaged by trained teachers who create the ambience and material to ensure children learn from the environment.

There is immense learning in this method with the child being the centre and all activities focused to teach the child the concepts and the basics of our education method. The structure in Kindergarten is driven by the Teachers.
Primary

Pre-primary level -

At the pre-primary level we follow the Montessori Method of teaching.

We also have seats for LKG and UKG.

Primary level -

We follow the ICSE syllabus from 1st grade onwards.

A good foundation be it through the montessori way or the Kindergarten method needs good encouragement and this aid is essential in the primary level and the depleted retention of good teachers in many institutions and hence technological aid in many schools in the name of progress and development has in fact depleted the child's mind. Today’s teaching staff are more equipped in operating computers and less in the subject that they are supposed to be masters in.

While the educational environment today is highly dependent on technology, what needs to be retained is faith in our teaching staff and there seems to be a lack of it.

At carmel academy, our teachers are the basis of our school and we ensure that they are handpicked and well paid with good benefits and use technology only as needed assistance and not depend on it to teach children.

At Carmel Academy we believe in all round development of our students. We know that in order to lead a successful life a student must have a balance between studies and play.
